U-18s take on India today

Bangladesh will look to confirm their semifinal berth in the SAFF U-18 Championship when they take on India in their second and last match of Group A today.

The match will get underway at 3:15pm at the APF Stadium in Kathmandu.

Having registered a 3-0 win in their first match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have one foot in the last four as a win or a draw today would take them through while even a defeat might prove to be enough for them to progress, depending on the group’s last match between favourites India and lightweights Sri Lanka on September 25.

Bangladesh and India have met twice in the previous two editions of this competition, with India winning the first encounter in tiebreak in 2015 while Bangladesh getting the better of their neighbours with a thrilling 4-3 victory two years ago.

Meanwhile, two-time defending champions Nepal are in danger of going out from the group stages following a 3-0 defeat against Bhutan yesterday which came on the back of their 1-1 draw against Maldives in their opening game.
