Former Manchester United and Argentina star Carlos Tevez is one of those players who has had the chance to play alongside the two best players in the world today in Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Portuguese and the Argentine have dominated the sport by winning titles, scoring lots of goals and competing for top individual awards against each other in the last ten years.

Tevez, who plays for Argentina’s Boca Juniors, has highlighted the difference between these two players, saying one undergoes intensive training to get better while the other has natural talent that allows him to play at a higher level.

“I've never seen Messi in the gym, or training on how to stop the ball,” Tevez said during a talk with young people in the Holy Spirit Parish of San Isidro.

“It's something natural to him, but as you see, before he didn't take free kicks and today he hits them into the top corner. Cristiano spends all day in the gym, as it's an obsession he has.”

Tevez played alongside Cristiano under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson for two years at Manchester United. Ronaldo won his first Ballon d’Or in 2008 while playing for the Red Devils and Tevez said that the former no. 7 used to arrive in training before everyone. Tevez said that Messi sees the game in a unique manner and because of that he can do incredible things on the pitch.

“We trained at 9.00am with United, but arrived at 8.00am and he was already there,” he continued.

“We arrived at 7:30am sometimes, and he was even there at that time. Cristiano prepares to be the best and for Lionel everything comes naturally.

“That's the big difference that I see between the two best players on the planet today. Messi plays another sport, he does what he wants and when he wants to,” Tevez concluded.
