Saif Sporting Club have pulled out of all sorts of footballing activities from next season citing the disparity in their investments and returns from it.

"The board of directors has decided to withdraw from all footballing activities from Bangladesh Premier League for the next season because of the big differences between the outputs and inputs," Saif SC chairman Ruhul Amin Tarafder told The Daily Star today.

"We think we can't contribute well to the country's football. Besides, we are also busy dealing with the current situation of our business and will not be able to give efforts for the club activities," said Amin, who is also vice chairman of Chittagong Abahani.

Saif SC, the country's first club operated by a corporate business house, entered the Bangladesh professional football league in 2017 after becoming champions in the second-tier Bangladesh Championship League the previous year.

Saif SC also produced their best-ever result with a third-place finish in the recently-concluded professional football league.

Over the years, Saif SC produced some good quality players who went on to represent the Bangladesh national team. Riyadul Hasan Rafi, Rahmat Mia, Yeasin Arafat, Faisal Ahmed Fahim, Miraz Hossain, Sajjad Hossain are a few such players.
