Rain defers U-18 final

The final of the Walton U-18 Football Tournament between Saif SC and NoFeL SC was deferred to today after heavy rain yesterday rendered the ground at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium unplayable.

The match was scheduled to kick off at 3:00pm. Even though rain stopped before the scheduled start, it would not allow a full match, in case it went into extra time, to be completed under natural light as the floodlights are not good enough to hold matches, informed Bangladesh Football Federation’s competitions manager Zaber Al Ansari.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 2:00pm today.

The match was originally scheduled to be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium but was later shifted to Kamalapur to allow the BNS be prepared for the second FIFA friendly between Bangladesh and Bhutan.
