Bangladesh left-back Rahmat Mia tested positive for Covid-19 while winger Rakib Hossain returned a negative test in his second Covid test today, informed the Bangladesh Football Federation today. 

Bangladesh are scheduled to fly for Nepal at 2:15pm today to take part in a tri-nation football tournament. The tri-nation tournament involving hosts Nepal, Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan U-23 team is set to start on March 23 and will continue till March 29. 

And Rakib, who had tested positive in his first round of Covid test, will be traveling to Nepal with the rest of the team after having returned a negative test in his second Covid test. 

Meanwhile, Rahmat will undergo a second test on March 20 and will be flying to Nepal on March 22 with skipper Jamal Bhuiyan, subject to his negative report.

Jamal, who has been fulfilling his I-league commitment in India for Kolkata Mohammedan Sporting Club, was released by the club today for national duty. However, Jamal will return to Bangladesh today or on March 20, subject to the availability of flights from Kolkata to Dhaka.  

Bangladesh will play the opening match of the tri-nation tournament against Kyrgyzstan Olympics U-23 team at the Dashrath Stadium. The tournament will be played in round-robin format. There will be a total of four matches with the top two teams playing in the final. The Dashrath Stadium will host all the matches.
