Bangladesh Police FC registered an emphatic 4-1 win over struggling Muktijoddha Sangsad in their Bangladesh Premier League encounter at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj today.

The seventh triumph in 17 matches meant Police are now breathing down the necks of Mohammedan SC and Chittagong Abahani in the race of entering into the top five of the 12-team table. Despite having equal 25 points as Mohammedan SC, Police are at the seventh position due to the goal difference and a point short of fifth-placed Chittagong Abahani.

Fresh from a 3-2 win over Uttar Baridhara, Bangladesh Police took only three minutes to break the deadlock with Christian Kouakou giving the lead before Sudi Abdullah of Burundi brought Muktijoddha Sangsad back in the game with a 19-minute strike.

Police restored the lead with another strike from Christian in the 26th minute before MS Bablu struck a brace to ensure Police's third straight win over Muktijoddha Sangsad, who are at the 10th position with 11 points.
