No superstar was bigger than you and there never will be: Mashrafe

"There was no superstar bigger than you in my eyes and there never will be," wrote former Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza on his personal Facebook account as he mourned the death of Argentina football legend Diego Maradona. 

"Mourning after mourning continues. There was no superstar bigger than you in my eyes and there never will be. You were the only superstar whom I ever wanted to meet in person. The pictures of perfect goals drawn by your left foot will always remain on my heart's canvas. Stay well on the other side magician.  The Dribbling Master," Mashrafe, who never shied away from flaunting his admiration and love for the Argentine legend, continued. 

Premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also wrote a touching message on his official Facebook account to mourn the legend's death.

"There are players who are iconic to each generation and then there are players who transcend generations and become icons of the game itself.

"Diego Armando Maradona was a player who personified football. He was as famous on the pitch as he was infamous off it, he did everything his own way - right or wrong.

"What can't be denied is his unbelievable talent, football acumen and love for the game. Football will continue to grow and amaze us because of legends like him.

"Rest in peace, Diego!," wrote Shakib.

Maradona had died after suffering a heart attack at his home in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, those close to him confirmed.
