Lalmonirhat win U-16 women’s football title

Lalmonirhat became unbeaten champions of the inaugural BFF-UNICEF U-16 National Women’s Football after beating Magura 4-0 in the final at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur yesterday.

Liva Akter scored a second-half hattrick after Shantona Khatun had given the Lalmonirhat team the lead in the 38th minute of the match.

Liva, who scored 16 goals in the tournament, received the Golden Boot trophy while Moonki Akter of the same team won the Golden Ball trophy. Lalmonirhat team’s goalkeeper Golapi Akter was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament.

Earlier, Lalmonirhat had beaten Rajshahi 6-0 in the first semifinal, Magura, on the other hand, had beaten Mymensingh 7-0 in the other semifinal on the previous day,
