41-year-old coach likely to be at the dugout against Qatar

Bangladesh football team's head coach Jamie Day returned a negative result in his fourth Covid-19 test on Monday, more than two weeks after first testing positive.

The coach, who stayed back in Dhaka as his team left for Qatar on November 19 to play a World Cup qualifier against the hosts, is likely to fly to Doha tomorrow.

A message from Bangladesh Football Federation last night said that it was working so that the coach can fly to Doha on Wednesday, and upon one day's quarantine, can be at the team bench on December 4.

Day first tested positive on November 14 following the first of two friendly matches against Nepal on the previous day. He had tested positive two more times since before the latest test on Monday.

He has been in isolation since as Stuart Watkiss, the assistant coach, has been guiding the side.

Bangladesh have played two practice matches in Doha -- losing 3-2 against an amateur side namd Qatar Military before losing 1-0 against a second division side named Lusail SC.
