Following the Champions League match between Barca and Dynamo Kyiv, there was a conversation between Mircea Lucescu, the veteran Romanian coach of the Ukrainian team and Lionel Messi. The coach asked for Messi's shirt at the end of the game and also had a message for the Argentine which he revealed to Romanian media.

Lucescu had to call Messi back while he was leaving the pitch and the Argentine gestured something which appeared to have suggested a place where they could meet. It generated various interpretations in the media in particular if they shared an amicable relationship.

Lucescu clarified: "I don't understand how people could interpret ... Messi made his Champions League debut in Barcelona in a match with Shakhtar in December 2004. We have met 9 times since then! We greet each other, we shake hands. I shouted at him, "Leo!" I felt like shouting at him, then I went and talked to him."

Lucescu revealed what he told Messi at the Camp Nou after Barcelona's 2-1 win.: "Leo, I have Pele's shirt at home. Next to it I want to put yours!".
