Faraaz Gold Cup: Fareast, IUBAT in last 16

Defending champions Fareast International University and IUBAT moved into the last 16 of the United Group Faraaz Gold Cup football tournament following victories in their last group phase matches at the Birshreshtha Sheheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium yesterday.

IUBAT beat Sonargaon University, with Abdur Rahman scoring the only goal of the game in the 26th minute.

In the second match, Fareast International University cruised past United International University 3-1 with Abdus Sattar, Moinul Abedin and Shakhawat Hossain getting on the scoresheet for the defending champions. Rezaul Islam reduced the arrears for United International University in stoppage time.
