'Unacceptable fake news', Pogba slams rumors of him quitting France

Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba took to social media to denounce rumors of him retiring from the French national football team. 

There were rumors circulating all over social media that France midfielder Pogba -- a practising Muslim -- announced his retirement from international football following French President Emmanuel Macron's recent statement about 'Islamist terrorism' on Monday. There were even responses from people supporting his alleged retirement as they believe there must not be any hatred for a particular religion across the world.

The Sun newspaper alleged that Pogba reacted to Macron's comments by quitting the national team.

However, Pogba shared an Instagram story where he slammed the rumors and labeled the reports as 'unacceptable fake news'.

The 27-year-old had played 72 games for France, scoring ten goals. He also played a key role in the 2018 World Cup campaign, when France lifted the World Cup trophy.
