CP football training held

In a quest of spreading CP [Cerebral Palsy] football across the country as well as forming a national CP football team through talent hunt program, a four-day coaches' training course completed at the Bangladesh Football Federation yesterday.

Association for Research Development and Rights Implementation for Disabilities [ARDRID] and the National Paralympics Committee of Bangladesh, in association with International Federation of CP Football and BFF, jointly organised the coaches' course, with Dutch trainer Rene Juririus and English trainer Sam Turner conducting the course where some 35 professional coaches including six from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal took part.

Secretary general of Bangladesh Paralympics Committee Engineer Maksudur Rahman informed the trained coaches will scout talented footballers who are physically challenged and then provide training with an aim of forming a national CP team for different tournaments such as CP Football Word Cup, Asia Cup and Paralympic Games.

"It is a noble initiative for the physically challenged people who are further behind in society. Bangladesh Football Federation is with this initiatives and is ready to provide any kind of help," said BFF president Kazi Salahuddin during the certificate distribution ceremony. 

Paralympics Committee vice-president Prof Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam was present at the occasion.
