Barcelona knocked arch rivals Real Madrid out of the semifinal of the Copa Del Rey with a 3-0 drubbing, thanks to two goals from Luis Suarez.

The first half finished goal-less with the best chances falling to Real Madrid. Ousmane Dembele and Vinicius Jr -- the two wingers from the two sides -- were easily the most dangerous and exciting players on the pitch in that first half. Vinicius in particular terrorised the Barcelona defence once too often in the first half, but he failed to find the net following his mazy runs. He shot one over the bar from close range before Karim Benzema found himself with only Ter Stegen to beat but shot straight at the goalkeeper.

Barcelona have made a habit of silencing the Santiago Bernabeu crowd and in the second half they raised their game after a dismal first half display to reach their sixth Copa del Rey final on the trot. They now have a chance to win their fifth consecutive Copa del Rey trophy too when they face either Real Betis or Valencia in the final.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring for Barca in the 50th minute with a superb first-time shot after Dembele had put in a low cross in to the box. Dembele turned provider once again in the 69th minute but this time his cross was turned into the net by Madrid defender Raphael Varane for an own goal.

Barca added a third in the 73rd minute via a Suarez penalty to win the tie 4-1 on aggregate after the first leg finished 1-1 at the Camp Nou. Having struggled immensely in the first half, Barcelona survived and prevailed in the second leg -- helped no doubt by poor first-half finishing from Real -- to knock Los Blancos out of the tournament.
