FC Barcelona raised teenage talent Ansu Fati’s release clause to 170 million euros after the player’s recent contract renewal, one that will see him continue with the Catalan club till 2022.

Ansu became the club’s second youngest scorer at the age of 16 years during a 2-2 draw against Osasuna. His star has been on the rise and he then became the youngest player to both score and assist in the same match as Barcelona thrashed Valencia 5-2 at the Camp Nou.

Barca wanted to ward off interest from other clubs given how the player has shown maturity as he burst onto the scene.

Among the current players in the Barcelona squad, Antoine Griezmann’s release clause is the highest, standing at 800 millions euros. Captain Lionel Messi is next on the list with a buy out clause of 700 million euros.
