Bangladesh Women football team players swept the awards after ensuring their maiden SAFF Women Championship title by beating hosts Nepal 3-1 in the final at the Dasarath Rangasala in Kathmandu on Monday.

Bangladesh skipper Sabina Khatun was the top scorer of the tournament, netting a total of eight goals in five games. Sabina, who scored two hat-tricks -- against Pakistan in the group stage and Bhutan in the semifinal -- was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Aside from racking up the goals, the 28-year-old forward, who has featured in all six editions of the SAFF Championship so far, also directly contributed to many of the 23 goals scored by Bangladesh in the tournament. She also set up one of the three goals in the final today.

Bangladesh goalkeeper Rupna Chakma, who only conceded a solitary goal throughout the tournament, was named the best goalkeeper. Playing in all the five matches, Rupna was only beaten when Nepal's Anita Basnet found a way through in the 70th minute of the final today.

Bangladesh, as a team,  also won the Fairplay award.
