Bangladesh keep slim hopes alive with 1-0 win over Sri Lanka

Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 at the Dasarath Rangsala Stadium in Kathmandu today to keep their slim hopes alive of qualifying for the final of the 13th South Asian Games.

Having lost their opening fixture against Bhutan and managing a draw against Maldives, Bangladesh needed a win to stay in the running and they did just that as Mahbubur Rahman Sufil’s strike in the 12th minute gave them the victory.

Bangladesh will now need a win in their last round-robin fixture against Nepal on December 8 while hoping that other results go in their favour.
