Badal Roy joins in with allegations

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) vice president Badal Roy also questioned the irregularities found in the BFF’s financial three-year financial statement yesterday, just a day after BFF vice president Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi alleged that there were discrepancies in the report.

The observations made on the BFF audit report for the 2016-2018 fiscal years, which were set to BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, were similar to the ones that Mohiuddin placed before the BFF boss on Monday.

“The audit report sent to us has not been approved by the BFF finance committee in which a BFF vice president and myself gave a note of decent as the members. But, it was placed at the BFF executive committee and some executive members were crazy to approve it. I don’t know why they did it,” said Roy at his office at the BFF house yesterday, adding that the BFF also sent the report to the AFC and FIFA without approval.

“This has been happing because there is problem in leadership. If the leader is not right, then anomalies will take place. Every organization has rules and regulations and if the organization don’t follow the rules and regulations, then irregularities will occur,” said Roy, who also informed that the audit firm was appointed without approval from the annual general meeting.

“It is illegal to show the expenditure of previous years in the 2016-2018 fiscal report. The BFF also spent 7 lakh dollar funded by FIFA for the BFF Football Academy on other purposes, which is also not acceptable,” claimed Roy, adding that he prepared his observations through the professional audit firm.

“The BFF president [Kazi Salahuddin] is responsible for all irregularities because he never cared for rules and regulations and did everything as he wished. He promised to work together to develop the country’s football after the 2016 elections but sadly we could not produce 11 quality footballers in the last 11 years. Who will take the responsibility for this?” questioned former footballer Roy, who has virtually been inactive since June, 2017 following a brain haemorrhage.

Lastly, Roy warned that he will be forced to take sterner action if he is not given a proper explanation for his observations on the financial irregularities.
