LA to host Olympics

Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympics after reaching a deal with Olympic organizers, the Los Angeles Times reported yesterday, citing an unnamed source close to the negotiation.

The agreement paves the way for the 2024 Summer Games to be awarded to Paris. An announcement from the International Olympic Committee was expected later. Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's office said an announcement regarding the city's bid for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games would be made at 5 p.m local time.
