Last season, Liverpool closed the door on Coutinho to complete his dream move to Barcelona but this season the English club are likely to respond to a bid from Barca for the Brazilian midfield dynamo.

According to Spanish media outlet AS, Liverpool are likely to agree a deal in January or sell him in the summer.

Barcelona placed multiple bids on the table for Coutinho last season but Liverpool were not willing to negotiate for the Brazilian. It was likely that losing their biggest talent could lead to other significantly important stars like Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino moving away from Anfield.

However, after taking a hard stance against any move from Barca last season, it seems Liverpool now feel that there is little point in keeping a player against his will. Coutinho openly admitted to being interested in a move.

“As everyone knows I was keen on the move as was my family and it was an honour to receive an offer from a prestigious club such as Barcelona but at the same time it's also an honour to play here, Liverpool are a massive club and respected throughout the world,” he said back in September last year.

Liverpool are yet to receive a offer for Coutinho this season but last season Barca were speculated to have offered around 150 m euros for the player.

Barcelona based SPORT report suggests that Coutinho will not play for Liverpool again this season. The midfielder's entourage believes that a deal with Barca will be signed withihng the next few days. Coutinho did not play in Liverpool's 2-1 win against Burnley due to a slight discomfort.
