Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar said that Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus from Real Madrid will change Italian football and restore its glory, just like the 26-year old forward remembers from his childhood days.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who joined Real from Manchester United in 2008 for a then world record 80 million pounds, is the Spanish club's all-time top scorer with 451 goals in all competitions and won two La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies with them.

However, after helping Madrid secure a third-straight Champions League triumph in May, Ronaldo felt the time was right for a new challenge.

According to a report from Goal.com, Neymar who grew up during the golden era of the Italian clubs like Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan told reporters that Ronaldo’s move would be beneficiary for Italian football as it might restore the long lost glory of the league.

“Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure for Juventus will change Italian football,” Neymar told reporters.

“It will once again be the Italian football that I saw as a child.

“Cristiano is a great player, is a football legend, a genius, so we have to respect him.”

Neymar, who had been strongly linked with Ronaldo’s former club Real Madrid as a potential replacement of the Portuguese has recently said that he will be staying at PSG.
