The Spanish football federation (RFEF) announced the fixtures and dates of the upcoming La Liga season and the El Clasico matches will be played on October this year and March next year.

Spain’s biggest two teams Real Madrid and FC Barcelona face each other in Clasico fixtures – a game that draws attention from the rest of the world because of the intense rivalry and the star names on show.

The first Clasico of the La Liga season falls on the weekend Oct. 28 at the Camp Nou, while the return fixture will be on March 3, 2019 at the Bernabeu.

The La Liga season will begin on August 18 and the last round of matches are scheduled for May 19, 2019. Barcelona, current La Liga title holders will begin their title defence on August 19 against Alaves home.

Real Madrid will begin their campaign under new coach Julen Lopetegui after Zinedine Zidane resigned at the end of last season having won three back-to-back Champions League titles. Star forward Cristiano Ronaldo also moved to Juventus and it will certainly take some sheen out of the Clasico when Real Madrid travel to the Camp Nou for the first Clasico.
