Kool-BSJA media football underway

The Daily Star made a winning start in the Kool-BSJA Media Cup football tournament with a 2-1 win over Daily Jugantor at the Bangladesh Football Federation astro-turf yesterday.

Mahmudul Hasan and Rafiul Islam scored one goal apiece for The Daily Star in this opening game of the six-a-side football carnival where some 24 reputed media houses are taking part.

In the other matches, Jagonews beat Somoy TV 2-0, Dhaka Tribune beat Bangladesh Protidin 7-0, Boishakhi TV beat Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha 5-0, Banglavision beat Naya Diganta 1-0, Janakantha played out 1-1 draw against Amader Somoy while the match between Shamakal and Sangbad ended in a 2-2 draw.

BFF's senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy inaugurated the tournament as chief guest while sponsor Square Toiletries' senior marketing manager Jesmin Zaman, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, BSJA president Syed Saidur Rahman Shamim and general secretary Junate Hossain were among others present.
