FIFA orders points deduction for MSC

The world football governing body FIFA has ordered the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) to deduct three points from Mohammedan Sporting Club's current premier league campaign for their failure to implement a decision by the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chambers regarding payment to former coach Emeka Ezeugo, according to reports in Nigerian media.

If the BFF goes ahead to implement the points deduction and Mohammedan still do not pay the coach, they will be demoted to the lower division, the report claimed.

Due to their refusal to pay promptly since 2015, an additional 2000 dollars has been added to the debt and now they must pay 22,000 dollars or face demotion.

The ex-Nigerian international had coached Mohammedan in 2012, but left after a pay dispute and took his claim to FIFA, which ruled in his favour, ordering the club to pay the sum of 20,000 dollars.

However, as the club refused to pay the amount after several deadlines, FIFA yesterday ordered the BFF to deduct three points from the club with immediate effect.

In a letter dated 30th October 2017, FIFA reminded the Bangladeshi Federation that as a member of FIFA they must implement the points deduction.
