Lodewijk de Kruif, the re-appointed head coach of the Bangladesh national team, said his familiarity with the players and the conditions here will help him prepare the team for next month's Asian Cup qualifying play-offs against Tajikistan.

The 46-year-old coach returned to Dhaka for the first time this morning after parting ways with Bangladesh football last September. The Dutchman trained the squad in the afternoon and said his job will be to bgring back positivity in football.

"Football in bangladesh was in deep water in last one year and you saw the results and no one was proud of the results of the national team," the 46-year-old coach said prior to the training session at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. "One of the tasks [for me] will be to bring that feeling back that was one year ago -- good feeling of how we play, the positive way of playing. I know the circumstances, I know my players, I know how to build up the team in short time."
