According to a report by Cadena COPE, Cristiano Ronaldo is willing to pay 14.7 million euros and make a pact with the judge in order to avoid the possibility of going to prison.

Ronaldo was accused of evading 14.7 million euros in taxes and was summoned to appear in a Madrid court on July 31 to answer four counts of tax evasion of 14.7 million euro ($16.5m).

Ronaldo’s Real Madrid future was in doubt when it was reported in the media that the star forward was unsettled at Real Madrid.

Spanish paper Marca had reported that Ronaldo told his teammates “"there is no turning back".

Speculation is ripe that Ronaldo wants Madrid to bear some of the burden of the fine and was trying to put pressure on the club.

If Ronaldo does not make a pact, he runs the risk of going to prison for the four counts of tax fraud he is accused of.

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi was handed a prison sentence of 21 months but the sentence was suspended because of the law regarding jail sentences for first time offenders for non viloent crimes.
