Abahani lift the Walton Federation Cup with a 1-0 win over Arambagh KS in the final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.

English attacking midfielder Lee Tuck struck the decisive goal in the 11th minute to break the hearts of Arambagh, who were looking for their maiden top-flight trophy after making it to the Federation Cup final in 15 years.

Arambagh had earlier reached the Federation Cup final twice in 1997 and 2001 but on both occasions, they had to be content with runners-up trophy after losing to Abahani and Muktijoddha Sangsad respectively.

It is the ninth Federation Cup trophy for Abahani, who last won it in 2010 beating star-studded Sheikh Jamal DC 5-3 in a pulsating final. It is also Abahani’s first tournament title in five years.
