The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is set to appoint Jamie Day as its head coach for the national team.

The 38-year-old Englishman, who is currently acting as assistant coach of Barrow, a fifth tier side of English football league system, will be officially introduced at the BFF headquarters in Motijheel on Saturday.

Day, who started as an Arsenal player but had to quit his ambition as a professional player quite early due to injury, is expected to sign a one-year contract. The first big test for Day would be the SAFF Championship, which takes place in Dhaka in September this year.

Bangladesh are currently without a head coach for the national team after the sudden departure of Andrew Ord, who resigned immediately after Bangladesh’s 2-2 draw against Laos in an international friendly on April 3.
