The Bangladesh women's team is set to take on Ireland in two T20Is and two ODIs in September. The Bangladesh team will travel to Northern Ireland on September 2 and are scheduled to meet the Irish side in the T20Is on 5 and 6 September followed by the ODIs on 08 and 10 September.

All the matches will be held at the Bready Cricket Club in Londonderry.

BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said that the tour would be an excellent opportunity for the cricketers to test themselves against fellow World Cup hopefuls: “I want to thank Cricket Ireland for the tour arrangements. Taking logistical and operational convenience into consideration we had to shorten the duration of the tour and Cricket Ireland deserves a lot of credit for accommodating the BCB's [Bangladesh Cricket Board's] request and making the necessary adjustments within a short time. The players I am sure will make the most of the four games that promise exciting and competitive cricket.

“Our cricketers will be greatly benefited by the experience of playing in conditions that are not familiar to them.

“Bangladesh and Ireland are rapidly developing teams and both are on a mission to qualify for the ICC Women's World Cup. This will be very good preparation heading into the qualifiers in Thailand next year,” he added.

The national women's team has already begun practising at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. However, the board is yet to announce the women's team. At the moment, Jahanara Alam is the captain of the team.
