Tamim wins Tiger derby

It was Tamim Iqbal versus Shakib Al Hasan at the Pakistan Super League yesterday, and the Bangladesh opener won both team and personal battles as Peshawar Zalmi edged out Karachi Kings by three runs in a thriller at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Tamim hit a 35-ball 37, supporting Mohammad Hafeez's 35-ball 59 as Peshawar posted 182 for four after winning the toss. Tamim hit Shakib for one of his three boundaries, swatting a full toss away to the square leg fence en route to taking eight runs off the four balls he faced from his comrade.

Shakib had a forgettable outing -- his two overs went for a wicketless 26 runs before he was dismissed for just one. Ravi Bopara hit a blistering 33-ball 67 for Karachi, but it was in vain as they lost a cluster of wickets at the end.
