Shami's wife accuses him of attempted murder

Indian pacer Mohammad Shami is facing serious criminal charges following complaint filed by his wife.

According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan, accused him and his family of attempting to kill her by giving her a heavy dose of sleeping pills. Hasin has also filed a case against Shami’s elder brother Ahamed for rape.

“I tried to convince him that he should accept his mistake, I have been trying since very long. He would've run away to UP by now if I did not catch hold of that mobile phone, he would've divorced me till now if I did not have the mobile phone," Shami’s wife was quoted as saying by Times of India.

The cricketer meanwhile has welcomed a thorough investigation into the incidents and has said that he trusts the BCCI on that regard and is not worried.

"Have full faith on BCCI, whatever decision they take will be after much deliberation and investigation. I have no tension regarding that," Shami said.
