Resuming the second day of the first Test against New Zealand on five, Shakib Al Hasan put on a batting masterclass as he added 212 runs to his overnight score in Wellington yesterday. The left-hander batted with an aura of calmness not often associated with him as he ducked his way through bouncers and picked his shots with unmatched patience. Bangladesh's ace all-rounder was in exquisite touch, although it was hard to tell from his subdued demeanour. He remained as focused as a Tiger stalking its prey, scarcely celebrating any of his milestones, but when all was said and done he had a plethora of records to his name and kept the Tigers flying high.
