Women’s A team lose India series

The Bangladesh women’s A team lost the final game of their three-match T20 series to their Indian counterparts by 30 runs and lost the series 1-0 after both of the previous games were washed out at the Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.

After Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field, India made 111 for seven. Opener Yastika Bhatia scored 18 while Tanushree Sarkar chipped in with a valuable 12-ball 15. The mainstay was Tejal Hasabnis, who hit one four during a 32-ball 28.

Bangladesh’s Khadiza Tul Kubra returned fine figures of three wickets for 12 runs while Mumtahena Hasnat took two wickets for 15.

After the exchange, a batting debacle saw Bangladesh falter and they could only manage 81 for nine in 20 overs. A team high 18-ball 15 came from Nuzhat Tumpa while only three others got into double figures.
