Tigresses breeze past USA to enter last four as group champions

Bangladesh women's cricket team handed a 55-run defeat to United States in their third and final group stage game in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The result means that the Nigar Sultana Joty-led side advance as Group A champions after the Tigresses comfortably defended a 159-run target by restricting the United States to 103 for three in 20 overs.

Bangladesh piled their total with two unbeaten fifties from opener and player-of-the-match Murshida Khatun (77) and skipper Joty (56), batting at one down.

Bangladesh remained clinical so far in the tournament after beating Ireland by 14 runs in their opening game of the qualifiers before they crushed Scotland during a six-wicket win.
