Tigers to play tri-nation series in NZ before T20 World Cup

Bangladesh are set to gear up for the T20 World Cup by playing a tri-nation series in New Zealand, cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus told the media today.

The series is set to be Bangladesh's final T20I series ahead of the showpiece event before they take part in a few warm-ups as part of their final preparations.

Bangladesh will hold a camp in Adelaide, Australia before playing the tri-nation tournament in New Zealand. The camp in Adelaide will see the Tigers play a team from the Big Bash before they head to New Zealand. The tri-nation series in New Zealand will be followed by a camp before they go to Australia to play the World Cup. 

"You already know that we have a lot of T20 matches [coming up]. Lots of preparation but it doesn't feel like holding a separate camp since we are within continuous cricket. We will do a camp in Adelaide and play a tri-nation tournament in New Zealand. Then we will hold practice sessions for seven to eight days in New Zealand, most likely in Christchurch. A tri-nation tournament will be played there. While the other team hasn't been finalised yet, it will probably be in Pakistan."

Bangladesh are set to play three T20Is in West Indies against the hosts in June-July before playing three T20Is against in Zimbabwe. Bangladesh are then slated to play the Asia Cup which is supposed to be held in Sri Lanka before the World Cup.
