Tigers lose six inside 20 overs

Bangladesh find themselves in a precarious position, with six of their batters back in the hut inside the first 20 overs in their second of the three-match ODI series against India at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today.

After pacers Umran Malik and Mohammad Siraj rattled the Tigers with well-directed short deliveries, off-spinner Washington Sundar took three wickets in quick succession to have the hosts reeling at 71 for six in 20 overs.

Siraj accounted for the first two wickets, those of skipper Liton Das and Anamul Haque Bijoy before Umran joined the party. Umran's sheer pace had the Tigers unsettled in the middle, with Najmul Hossain Shanto finding no answer to a 151kmph delivery that dismantled the left-hander's stumps.

After that, Sundar got in on the act, picking up the prized wicket of Shakib Al Hasan in his second over. Shakib, who was struck in the helmet a number of times by both Umran and Siraj, tried to force a slog sweep and ended up top edging to Shikhar Dhawan at short fine leg. Dhawan almost squandered the opportunity, failing to grab it with his hands but was lucky to see the ball get stuck between his thighs.

Sundar then gave the hosts a double blow, removing Mushfiqur Rahim and Afif Hossain in the 19th over.
