Proteas thrash Sri Lanka

Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis scored fluent half-centuries as South Africa thrashed Sri Lanka by 113 runs in the second one-day international at the SuperSport Park yesterday to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

After being sent in to bat, South Africa posted 251 all out in 45.1 overs, with opener De Kock hitting 94 off 70 balls and skipper Du Plessis scoring 57 of 66 deliveries. All-rounder Thisara Perera took three for 26. Sri Lanka, in reply, got bowled out for 138 in 32.2 overs.
