Stumps rattled as Shanto’s frustration boils over

Bangladesh batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto was a picture of frustration at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today during individual practice.

Having come to the net practice after Soumya Sarkar and Shamim Patwari's sessions at the centre net, Shanto failed to get bat on ball to quite a few throw downs. His frustration boiled over as images surfaced of him hitting the stumps with his bat after missing a delivery. The videos went viral on social media.

The batter was hit on the chest the previous delivery and that perhaps instigated the reaction after the following delivery.

Shanto, who was included in the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, did not look very comfortable during the net session. Taken onboard as a backup opener, Shanto's role would be crucial in the upcoming assignments but his confidence at the moment seems to be concerning. Nazmul's inclusion raised questions on selection policy as he did not feature in the Asia Cup or the Zimbabwe T20Is recently.

The Bangladesh team have no official practice sessions at the moment with cricketers undergoing individual sessions. The team will leave for UAE to play a two T20Is against UAE on September 25th and 27th respectively.
