Shakib not playing IPL this season?

Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan has reportedly decided to not feature in the ongoing 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to his packed schedule with the national team which would not allow him to play in many games for his side Kolkata Knight Riders.

"Shakib could remain busy in a number of international assignments for Bangladesh during the IPL. So, KKR offered the proposition for Shakib to be replaced by another player for the season and Shakib accepted," a KKR official informed The Daily Star, adding that the franchise will soon make an official announcement.
