Rovman Powell starred with the bat, ball and in catching as Jamaica Tallawahs completed the highest-successful T20 chase at Guyana against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL.

With the ball, the West Indian bowled two overs, going for 21 runs but picked up two wickets including that of Warriors’ top-scorer Jason Mohammed, who hit a 33-ball 54.

He took three catches which included a stunning one-handed effort on the boundary. Then he shined with the bat in Jamaica’s successful chase of Warriors’ 173 for six, playing a 34-ball 55-run knock with six fours and two sixes. He shared a 114-run unbeaten partnership with New Zealand’s Ross Taylor, who struck 60 off 41 deliveries as Jamaica romped home with eight wickets and 11 deliveries to spare.

The win put Tallawahs in second position in the CPL 2018 points table after 10 games with 12 points.
