Pakistan win 3rd T20I

Pakistan registered a consolation 27-run victory in the third and final T20I against South Africa at SuperSport Park yesterday.

The tourists, who lost the first two matches of the series by six runs and seven runs respectively, kept the hosts to 141 for nine after putting on a commanding 168 for nine in their allotted 20 overs, despite an unbeaten 55 from South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris. Mohammad Amir starred with the ball with three wickets while Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with two wickets each.

Earlier, left-arm opening bowler Beuran Hendricks took a career-best four for 14 as Pakistan scored 168. Seven Pakistan batsmen reached double figures but the highest score was 26 by Mohammad Rizwan.

A mid-innings collapse when three wickets fell for five runs in nine balls reduced Pakistan to 94 for five, with Rizwan, captain Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat falling in quick succession. Malik was run out for 18 after a mix-up with Talat.

Shadab Khan hit three sixes in the final over to finish with 22 not out .
