Pak U-16s win final one-dayer

A magnificent century from Haseebullah helped the Pakistan Under-16 team win the last one-dayer against their Bangladeshi counterparts by 29 runs at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna yesterday.

Asked to bat, Pakistan started brilliantly as Sameer Sajib and Haseebullah strung together a 143-run opening stand before the former dismissed on 64. Haseebullah’s 141-ball 129, which featured 11 boundaries and four sixes, saw the visitors post a challenging 279 for eight. Shamsul Islam was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh, scalping five wickets for 45 runs from his 10 overs.

After the exchange, despite a team-high 82-ball 60 from Sakib Shahriar Bangladesh were bundled out for 250 runs in 47.5 overs.
