‘Not how I wanted to say goodbye to international cricket’

International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Zimbabwe from international cricket over a failure to keep the sport free from government interference, putting in doubt their participation in qualifiers for the World T20.

The decision was slammed by many players with Zimbabwe players Sikandar Raza and former captain Brendan Taylor remaining the chief amongst many who voiced in support of Zimbabwe.

Raza took to twitter and posted an emotional message, saying that this one decision has suddenly made a lot of people unemployed at one go.

“How one decision has made a team, strangers. How one decision has made so many people unemployed. How one decision effect so many families. How one decision has ended so many careers. Certainly not how I wanted to say goodbye to international cricket. @ICC" Raza wrote on Twitter.

Former Zimbabwe cricketer Taylor also tweeted that the decision was ‘heart breaking’.

“@ICC It's heartbreaking to hear your verdict and suspend cricket in Zimbabwe. The @ZimbabweSrc has no government back round yet our Chairman is an MP? Hundreds of honest people,players, support staff,ground staff totally devoted to ZC out of a job,just like that." wrote Taylor.

A few other players have also reacted to this particular decision taken by ICC.
