A microbus carrying umpires and match officials of Dhaka Premier League came under attack from protesting workers in Savar this morning, delaying one of the early matches at BKSP.

The incident happened this morning when the microbus was heading towards BKSP, with the protesting workers of Savar EPZ pelting stones.

Eight officials were in the microbus, which came under attack. However, no one inside the microbus was injured.

The other vehicles carrying other officials and players had escaped the incident.

Kazi Inam Ahmed, the chairman of the cricket committee of Dhaka Metropolis, called it an "unfortunate incident", adding, "The match officials showed great courage in the face of such an incident. They could start the matches at 9.30am. The match officials had a police escort but four of them were facing thousands of people in that protest."
