Mehedi breaks the 107-run stand with Shreyas' wicket

All-rounder Mehidi Hasan Miraz managed to pick up the all-important wicket of Shreyas Iyer as the batter was held out at deep mid-wicket trying to go over the boundary in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Shreyas smashed three sixes and six fours to score 82 while stitching up a 107-run partnership with Axar Patel who also reached his fifty.

Bangladesh off-spinner Mehidi Hasan Miraz trapped KL Rahul lbw for 14 runs to reduce India to 80-4 in pursuit of Bangladesh's 271 after the end of 20 overs in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain picked up the prized wicket of India's Virat Kohli in the second over of the innings, while Mustafizur Rahman scalped the other opener Shikhar Dhawan to leave India two down for 13 runs.

The next one to go was Dhawan, who got himself in a tangle when a Mustafiz delivery rose sharply at his ribcage. The left-0handed batter failed to negate the extra bounce and fended his bat out, giving Mehedi Hasan Miraz the easiest of catches at point.

Shakib joined the party too as he picked up Washington Sundar in his very first over. Sundar took a long stride to play a flighted delivery towards the leg side but could only chip it to short mid-wicket leaving India three down for 39 runs on the board at the end of the powerplay.

Earlier in the day, courtesy of Miraz's unbeaten 83-ball 100 and a record 148-run stand for the seventh wicket between him and Mahmudullah, Bangladesh were able to post 271 for seven after losing six for only 69 at the 19 over mark.
