Liton put in Category A of BPL players’ draft

A total of 660 cricketers, among them 400 foreigners and 260 local players, have been listed in the upcoming players' draft of the ninth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. The players' draft between the seven franchises will be held tomorrow at a City Hotel.

Stalwarts such as Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad and Liton Das were placed in Category A.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mosaddek Hossain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Imrul Kayes, Mehedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed along with Mohammad Saifuddin have been listed in Category B.

Category A players will get Taka 80 Lakh while Taka 50 lakh, 40 lakh, 30 lakh, 20 lakh, 15 lakh, 10 lakh and 5 lakh have been assigned for Category B through G respectively.

Pakistan's Mohammad Hasnain and Shan Masood were put in Category A alongside West Indies' Carlos Brathwaite and Kemar Roach, Sri Lanka's Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka. 

South Africa's Temba Bavuma, Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez and Haider Ali, New Zealand's Mitchell McClenaghan and West Indies' opener Shai Hope were named in category B.

The BPL is set to begin on January 5 with the final slated for February 27.
