Bangladesh batsman Liton Das has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Australia at home after the batsman left the team bubble in Zimbabwe to return to Bangladesh for a family emergency on Monday.

The opening batsman is expected to reach Bangladesh today.

A statement from the Bangladesh Cricket Board late on Monday night said, "Bangladesh batsman Litton Kumer Das has left the National Team's bio-secure bubble in Harare today to travel to Dhaka due to a family emergency. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requests the privacy of Litton Kumer Das and his family at this time."

Bangladesh's ODI captain Tamim Iqbal will miss the series with a knee injury while wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim will also miss the series after returning home from Zimbabwe before the ODIs and T20s.

The Australians will come to Bangladesh on Thursday for a five-match T20 series against the hosts between August 3 and 9.
