Kishan smashes quickest ODI double ton

24-year-old Ishan Kishan smashed the quickest ODI double ton, off just 126 deliveries, and also became the first batter to smash a double ton against Bangladesh as India look set to post a mammoth total in their third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram today. 

He also became the fourth Indian batter to score a double hundred in ODIs, after Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. India are the only team with multiple double centurions in the format. 

Having already lost the three-match series 2-0, India came out all guns blazing, determined to avoid their first whitewash at the hands of Bangladesh. 

Kishan led the charge from the front, dealing in boundaries all over the ground, especially since bringing up his maiden ton off just 85 deliveries. 

The left-handed opener raced to the next hundred in just 41 deliveries, smashing seven sixes and nine boundaries during that period to bring up his double hundred off just 126 deliveries. In total, Kishan has struck 24 boundaries and 10 maximums during his carnage.

He also became the player with the highest individual score in Bangladesh against the hosts, surpassing Shane Watson's unbeaten 185 off 96 deliveries in 2011 in Mirpur. However, Kishan's innings is not the highest one in ODIs, as that record is still held by Rohit Sharma for his unbeaten 264 off 173 deliveries against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in 2014. 

Ishan's carnage, a 131-ball 210-run knock, finally came to an end in the 36th over when the left-hander failed to clear the ground and was caught by Liton Das near the straight boundary line off a Taskin Ahmed delivery.
