Even though the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed its determination to form the Regional Cricket Association (RCA) as a step toward impacting the growth of the sport across the country, things seem to be heading in the opposite direction when it comes to the standard of cricket outside the capital.

In a video shared by former Bangladesh left-arm seamer Syed Rasel on his Facebook account, domesticated animals like cows and goats were seen roaming on the ground while a second division cricket match in Jashore was underway.

"I feel ashamed but still I have to say that this is footage of a Jashore second division cricket league game. Meanwhile, elsewhere, I witnessed Alauddin Babu relentlessly hitting Thisara Perera for boundaries in Rajshahi. This is the current situation of our Jashore cricket and there is no one to see and there is no accountability," Rasel, who shared the video, wrote.

The Jashore second division league started on May 28 with a total of 28 teams, divided into two tiers, taking part in the competition.
