IPL franchises include Mushy in the auction list

Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim’s name was included by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises in the final list of 332 players who will go under the hammer in the upcoming auction, scheduled for December 19 in Kolkata.

The IPL governing council had trimmed down the initial list of 971 players to a final list of 332 before sending the list of players to the eight franchises on Wednesday. However, the final list of players have 24 additional players who were not part of the initial list of 971 players. These 24 players were added to the final list after their names were requested by the IPL franchises.

Mushfiqur, who had not initially registered for the IPL auction, remains as one of those 24 newly added players alongside the likes of West Indies pacer Kesrick Williams, Australia’s Dan Christian and legspinner Adam Zampa.

However it is not certain as to how many of the six Bangladeshi players -- Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mustafizur Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Taskin Ahmed -- who had put their names in the initial list could make it to the final list of players for the auction.
